Mission:
- Food Bank For New York City recognizes 25 years as the city’s major hunger-relief organization. Working to end food poverty and increase access to affordable, nutritious food for low-income New Yorkers throughout the five boroughs, the Food Bank’s initiatives focus on direct services, food sourcing and distribution, education and nutrition, financial empowerment, disaster relief and policy and research.
- FoodChange’s mission is to improve lives through education, nutrition and financial empowerment.
Method:
- FoodChange provides emergency meals to New York City’s hungry children and adults. To enhance people’s ability to buy food, we help them identify and secure the tax and income-supporting benefits to which they are legally entitled. And, through education, direct service and technical assistance we increase low-income people’s nutrition knowledge and strive to make healthy eating a reality for all New Yorkers.
